Carbonite, still “backuping” … Part 2
As 10/8/2011 1:02AM backup 7.1GB so far.
My Comcast internet is still working at full speed. Oh, earlier I forgot to include my internet speed info:
UPDATED: Well, I give up. This take too long and Comcast seem very unresponsive now.

Carbonite, online backup – Part 1
Well, I decided to give Carbonite a try as consumer feature. I actually has been using it for sometime now but that on Carbonite Pro for business computers. But I don’t have that much files to backup there. At home I have a lot of photos and videos. It would be interesting to see how long it will take to backup them all.
The registration and installation are very quick process, I only took me less then 5 mins.
Then the carbonite software took another 15 mins to find all the files that need to be backup. 183,581 files, 285 GB, that exclude videos. I will add videos files later. Let see how long it will take to backup them all. I started the Carbonite at 3:04PM PST today. Clock is clicking …
UPDATE: Now that I thought about it, it required 285 GB upload traffic. I wander if Comcast, my internet provider, will happy about this.
UPDATE: 10/6/2011 9:13PM PST – It now backed up: 12,596 files, 1.1 GB out of 162,227 files 284 GB

Xmarks is closing door
Oh no. This is sad. Xmarks Sync is closing door on January 10, 2011. I can’t remember when I start using Xmark but back then it was called Foxmarks. Foxmarks was only works on Firefox browser. That was perfect for me since my main browser. Now I can sync up my bookmarks both on my home desktop, laptop and office computer.
But times go by, I slowly use Chrome as much time as on Firefox. So I need a way to sync the bookmark across the browser. I actually still using IE but not as often. Most of time just to check website that it work on IE or some website just work better on IE (but this getting less and less an problem anymore).
Later on Xmarks are just getting better and by now they supported all browsers that I used Firefox, Chrome and IE. I snyc up all my bookmarks across the browsers. And better yet across my computers and OS. My Macbook Pro Firefox, Safari and Chrome have same bookmarks as my desktop, Windows 7, on Firefox, Chrome and IE.
Well, I guess in next few weeks, I better find other solution. I will let you know once I find a process to solve this problem …. or do you have solution?

Kindle and iBook
I’m so excited this morning when I was on the bed and suddenly a “light when on” with new solution. This is exciting. But before that, I need to get couple of technical books for references. I quickly jump up from my bed and exciting knowing that I have iPad and get the books right away. I searched for the books on iBook – zero results. I tried couple more terms but no luck. What the! Zero technical books in iBook 
So I searched on Amazon.com kindle ebook instead and found them. A bit of disappointed to Apple iBook.

Pro
- It’s a beauty
- Screen looks great
- Play YouTube.
- Better mail & Gmail interface
- Super battery life.
Cons
- Still – Virtual Keyboard suck. Actually it better word prediction. Even old Windows Mobile 5 can do better on this.
- Still need more Apps

Watch out on craigslist seller
Well, I’m active looking for couple of use lens and flashes. Last week, I found one of them and I’m so excited. It’s 28mm f1.8 and the ad said for $300 cash.
With excitement, I head down and drive for about 30 mins to get there. First time, I saw the lens (inside seller house and pretty dark too), it feel a bit different then the one I used before. (I borrowed from Loo). But I continue to check the len to make no scratches on the glass itself. Looks pretty clean but body a bit scratch. No problem, I thought as long as lens is clear. So pull out my Canon 7D and starting noting couple of interesting:
1) When it focus – it making a lot of noices
2) I was not able to manual focus it during auto focus?
Then that when I start wandering about this lens. What the heck, I thought and let me at least try it on the camera. So I start shooting and adjusting the aperture and realize it only go to 2.8 and I was like … WHAT the. This is not the lens I want. It’s different lens.
Then I told the lady this not the lens she mention in craigslist and she pretend she duno about it and I could feel she start react a bit different now…. anyway in no time, I just return the lens and say Bye to her. This new lens cost < $300 and she sell it as $300???

iPad is coming!
I’m excited about iPad since it announce. Now that I saw it first ad - I really want to get my hand one of iPad. It’s a great tool, complement with iPhone nicely. This one is going to be a HIT. Pre-order March 12 and line up to pick it up at April 3. Are you ready? YES!

Sweet I found a laptop case I want
Sweet, I have been searching a soft case for my Macbook Pro 13″ for couple months now and non really attract me. Or I better put it this way, non really any special.
Till today I found the one that I really want, but a bit pricey though, $79.99.
